16.02.2010 - DTS to launch new mono MFPs to help improve data security
The extent of improvements in the new range of Olivetti’s multi-functional mid-volume line-up is epitomised by the 52ppm d-Copia 5200MF and the 42ppm d-Copia 4200MF, which deliver true out-of-the box multi-functionality, based on single chip architecture and strong optional features.
Equipped with network printing, duplexing and colour scanning, as standard, these models are ideal for any busy medium-sized office department. Extensive finishing options include mailbox finishing, booklet folding and 2-or-4 hole punching, and an array of extra paper cassettes and fax options.
Additionally, a new Data Security feature, utilising state-of-the-art Internet Protocol Security, which authenticates and encrypts data being output, is available through these machines.
Another new security feature of the d-Copia 4200MF / d-Copia 5200MF is the Printed Document Guard feature which recognises embedded security watermarks, on documents, and, when an attempt to copy, scan or fax a document with this security watermark is detected, it automatically aborts the copy job and destroys the image.
In addition to the excellent security and finishing options, these models are equipped with 2 USB ports, located on the operator panel and on the main body of the machine itself. These ports enable direct printing from USB stick memory and support PDF, XPS, TIFF and JPEG formats. It is also possible to scan documents into the machine directly from USB memory.
These products join Olivetti’s range of highly reliable, impressively productive range of mono multi-functional models that offer good value and excellent functionality, to any business environment.
15.02.2010 - DTS adds Olivetti NetBooks to its IT Supplies range
Olivetti UK have launched the OliBook M1020, a highly desirable, compact NetBook laptop, perfect for school use and ideal for use when travelling.
DTS has added this lightweight model to its IT Supplies range. Weighing just 1.2kg, the OliBook M1020 has been designed with a stylish glossy piano-black finish and measures just 272mm x 189mm.
The OliBook M1020 has a 10.1“screen (1024 x 600) and 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU. It offers a 160GB of storage and is 3G ready; perfect for mobile internet use. As standard, the OliBook M1020 features 2 USB ports, a microphone and headphone jack and a multi-card card reader.What is more is has a built-in web-cam of 1.3 mega-pixels and offers embedded LAN and VGA connectors.
This will be the first of an extensive range of laptop products, and Internet keys, to be launched by Olivetti in the UK, and heralds the return of the 100 year old company as a household name in the PC market, after nearly 30 years out of the limelight.
04.11.2009 - DTS launch new mid volume colour MFP solutions
With print and copy output speeds of 36ppm, 28ppm and 22ppm, respectively, Olivetti’s new full colour digital MFPs, the d-Color MF360, d-Color MF280 and
d-Color MF220 are very impressive with their unbeatable combination of innovation, versatility, affordability and are designed with an acute awareness of the need to care for the environment.
With their outstanding print capabilities, in black and white, they are comparable with some of the best mono MFPs on the market. They all feature toner bottles, rather than cartridges, and they have separate drum and developer units, as opposed to a combined imaging unit, which make these models more affordable to run than desktop printers, and they offer added flexibility with short-set up times and simple servicing.
In terms of eco-printing, these models comply fully with the Energy Star environment standards, as they are designed to be exceedingly quiet, in operation and standby, they make use of recycled and recyclable materials, in their manufacture, and have improved toner which means they use less toner than previous models or many of their competitors, without sacrificing quality.
The d-Color MF360, d-Color MF280 and d-Color MF220 are the first generation Olivetti colour MFPs to offer browser-based Open 3.x. This enables the creation of individually designed workflows, saving time and money. Open PLATFORM supports customers in making the transition to comprehensive, integrated solutions rather than purchasing individual hardware.
All three products are ideal for use in medium sized office environments where small workgroups require mostly mid volume black and white output, with occasional colour. What is more, these three models allow increased productivity and flexibility, with their extensive finishing options, including booklet-making, job separation, hole-punching and saddle-stitching.
25.09.2009 - New black and white MFPs can save you money
DTS has just added, to its Olivetti range, the new 28ppm mono MFP products, the
d-Copia 283MF, the d-Copia 283MF Plus and the d-Copia 284MF, to its range to address the variety of needs in the low-end segments of the business market.
Market trends have shown that print speeds, and the requirement for duplex printing and copying have increased, so Olivetti’s trio of 28ppm machines cater for this and allow customers to choose how they want their model configured.
The d-Copia 283MF is the basic model, ideal for simple copying and printing as it is delivered with a platen cover, although it does have scanning capabilities and has the option to have duplexing added. Alternatively, small business users can choose the
d-Copia 283MF Plus which has a standard duplexing RADF. For those users who require faxing as part of the multi-functional package, the d-Copia 284MF is the model to choose as it has the full RADF and is delivered with a standard G3 fax with a modem speed of 36.6 kbps.
All 3 models can handle up to 800 sheets of paper, with the aid of an additional paper tray and, for those users who are not connected to a network, or need added security, they all offer USB direct printing and long-life consumables to ensure the cost of ownership is kept to a minimum.
In summary, the d-Copia 283MF, d-Copia 283MF Plus and the d-Copia 284MF have all been designed to help the home user or small workgroup to manage their output efficiently, productively and with greater consideration for the environment and their output costs.
09.07.2009 - DTS Tops Olivetti
Direct Technology Solutions is Olivetti’s Number 1 Dealer in the UK
At the half-way stage of 2009, Direct Technology Solutions (DTS) has just been crowned Olivetti’s Top Dealer Partner in the UK, for the first 6 months of the year.
DTS is one of Olivetti’s leading suppliers of high performance multi-functional and IT solutions in the UK and has set its own standards, for achievement, very high as it does with its range of products and services and, of course, its levels of customer support. No stranger to the accolade of Top Dealer for the Month, DTS was in the top position of the Olivetti Partner League for the month of May, and, previously, in March.
However, as Dennis Woods, Managing Director of Olivetti UK Limited said, “Olivetti’s Dealer Network is highly competitive, with many excellent companies vying to be at top of the Partner League Table, and it is companies like DTS who deliver the results time after time. It’s inspirational to others and we hope, that with their continued commitment and our support, they can continue to lead the way forward.”
DTS has been an Olivetti Elite Dealer for just 3 years, and, in their first year, won the “Outstanding Achievement by a New Dealer” Award at the Annual Olivetti Conference. Since then, the company has solidly reached its goals, year after year, but the dream is to be crowned Dealer of the Year.

09.07.2009 - New Olivetti high volume mono solutions launched
DTS is delighted to announce the addition of the new Olivetti d-Copia 6200 and d-Copia 8200 copier models to their business solutions range.
The Olivetti d-Copia 6200 and d-Copia 8200 print at 62 and 82ppm, respectively, and join the Olivetti range at the high end of its extensive range of MFPs, Printers, Fax and Software Solutions.
Both models feature a number of advanced options including network printing, scanning and a wide variety of extremely versatile finishing options. These models are able to handle up to 260 sheets of double-sided originals in a single pass, which means their duplex speed is one of the fastest in the market.
They also feature 40GB of memory and Olivetti’s extremely long-life drum lasting up to 3.6 million prints (d-Copia 6200), and 4.8 million prints (d-Copia 8200), so these two models are ideal for medium / large companies seeking high performance, quality and unfailing reliability to greatly improve their productivity and workflow management.
09.07.2009 - High quality solutions for business colour
DTS announce the addition of the new Olivetti d-Color MF551 and d-Color MF651 multi-functional colour models to their business solutions range.
These two new models have been designed to increase the speed, productivity and quality of high-end office applications, with the d-Color MF551 printing at 45ppm in full colour and 55ppm in black and white, while the d-Color MF651 is ideal for low to mid volume print-on-demand production printing, with its print speed of 50ppm in full colour and 65ppm in black and white.
Featuring an extremely high memory capacity of 2GB, as standard, which is expandable to 3GB, and a very fast 1GHz CPU, these models support PDF 1.7, ICC profiling and enable black over-printing and offer an auto-trapping feature.
In addition to their memory capacity, these models offer a newly developed all-in-one staple, hole-punch and saddle-stitching finisher, handling media up to 200g/m2 and have a 3,100 output capacity. In terms of paper capacity the d-Color MF551 and
d-Color MF651 provide options to hold up to 2,000 extra sheets of A3 wide paper, greatly increasing the total paper handling capacity of A3 wide paper to 3,150 sheets on-line. These models also support banner paper and have a total capacity of 6,150 A4 sized sheets, when the large capacity cassette is added. For the user these machines offer full office functionality of having a copier, printer, scanner, fax and mail-box all in one neatly designed package.
The large tilting, turning Touch Screen, and convenient white Info-Line, around the machine, have been improved over previous models. The Screen now allows users to access the Internet, using a stylus pen or optional keyboard, and features panel-located colour LEDs to indicate the status of the machine, corresponding to the Info-Line, so users can see, without having to move from their standing position to see what’s happening. The Info-Line itself now houses the ADF cable, additional fax board and Fiery controller cables to greatly improve the look of its environment and allow the machines to take up even less space.
In larger companies, where print volumes need to be allocated to departmental cost-centres, these machines are ideal. With 1000 user accounts able to be stored on them, volumes can be easily tracked and monitored. These models have also been designed to fit seamlessly onto a network supporting Mac, Unix/Linux, Citrix and SAP environments. They feature an Enterprise suite for server-based authentication, while they offer improved Finger Vein Recognition and proximity card technology to provide added security.
09.04.2009 - DTS expands its business to Oxford
Digital Technology Solutions (DTS) is Olivetti’s exclusive Elite Dealer in London. With its head office based in Bishopsgate, DTS prides itself on its customer service and excellent range of Business, Retail and Audio Visual solutions to suit all applications and is one of Olivetti’s flagship operations in the UK.
In line with its plans to offer its customer service and excellent multi-functional products, desktop printers, a range of EPOS and Audio Visual equipment, to other companies, outside the London area, DTS has recently opened a new branch in Eynsham. The branch enables DTS to expand its customer base and its number of staff. Local Oxford people have been employed in all areas of the business from sales, to service and administration.
Managing Director, Gino Graffato, said “In the past year we have received many requests from companies in the Oxford area, through referrals, and via the website, as it seems there are not many business equipment suppliers in the area.” DTS decided it would be a good idea to open a branch, to cater for the needs of all the diverse businesses and organisations in the area.
He went on to say “We have been supported by Olivetti along the way, and will continue to work with them as we grow our business and help others in the Oxford region. One of the decisions to situate ourselves outside the main town centre was to enable customers to visit our showroom with easy parking access”.
